Happy Labor Day from Sheet Metal Workers’ Local 19!
Look around at what working people build. The hospitals. The schools. The systems that heat and cool the buildings where your neighbors live and work. Sheet metal workers are shaping this country every single day. That is what we celebrate today.
Labor Day is not just a look back. It is a reminder that the work is ongoing and the people who do it matter. Our members earn their skill through years of training. They pass it to the next apprentice who walks through the door. That is how our membership survives and how our organization stays strong.
The good wages, benefits, and safety standards our members count on were won by workers who refused to settle. We owe them by protecting what they built and making it better for generations of members to come. Local 19 does that work in the shop, on the job site, and at the bargaining table.
So enjoy the day. Spend it with family and friends, the people who matter to you. Always remember the ones who came before us, and the ones who will follow. We are right here with you brothers and sisters, standing up for you and your families, day in and day out.
Solidarity forever,
